Bon Air, Virginia is considered a census-designated place, with a concentration of population, which is located in Chesterfield, Virginia. Bon Air, Virginia has a population of 18,052. It is also considered a suburb of the city of Richmond. Bon Air is also a part of the Southside neighborhoods. 

Although the region was supposedly developed to become a resort, the central part of Bon Air has been appointed as a National Historic District which also contains quite a number of victorian designed architectures from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In the late 19th century, the industrial downtown of Richmond was known for its polluted, dirty air. Bon Air, supposedly being a resort, was meant to be “good air”, which was a resort that had good, fresh air for the wealthy Richmonders to book a getaway to.

Even though Bon Air was a resort in the past, people now have still been enjoying the attractions and charms of the small, historic town.
